Can you believe that the simple technology of a stethoscope is being used to monitor air seeders? While it may not seem like the most obvious solution, the technology we developed for the Recon Wireless Blockage and Flow Monitor uses acoustic sensors to listen for blockages in air seeders.
When we develop solutions to solve growers’ challenges, we try to look beyond the obvious. Most blockage monitors utilize optical sensors, but we wanted to give growers a simpler, more reliable way to monitor their air seeders. This video demonstrates the easy installation of a Recon Wireless Blockage and Flow Monitor, which uses acoustic-based sensors and an iPad or ISO virtual terminal to display blockages anywhere in the system on air seeders, fertilizer applicators and box drills. In the first 2-3 minutes of this installation video Jason Wisniewski, Sales and Product Support Representative for Intelligent Ag, explains how this technology works to detect blockages in an air seeder.
